Panthers men pass ton mark
Wednesday 30 April, 2008 12:01am
IT was a mixed night for Penrith's basketball teams in Dubbo.
The Panthers men's team scored a runaway 101-67 win over the Rams on Saturday night.
But the Penrith women lost 60-51 to their Rams counterparts.
There was little doubt over the result in the men's game, even in the early stages as the Panthers stacked on the points against a weaker opponent.
Panthers head coach Jeff Cooper had the luxury of playing his entire squad for extended minutes in the game, as his team cruised to a 34-point victory.
The Penrith women were on fire in the opening quarter against the Rams.
Butl their opponents changed defences and things quickly deteriorated for the Panthers.
The Rams held the Panthers to a total of just 14 points through the second and third quarters to virtually wrap up the nine-point win.
