Off-line Beale still on target
Wednesday 30 April, 2008 12:01am
KURTLEY Beale had an off day with the boot in the Waratahs' 25-10 win over South African side Sharks in their Super 14 clash at Moore Park on Saturday.
Rampaging No 8 and man of the match Wycliff Palu scored two of the Waratahs' four tries.
Beale could manage only one penalty from four attempts and missed two drop- goal attempts.
But the Mt Druitt rugby prodigy set up up the first Waratahs try with a cutout pass which put Sam Norton-Knight over in the corner in the 48th minute.
Beale's sole points came from converting Palu's first try who ran through the Sharks defence from 10m out.
Then in the 60th minute, a perfectly weighted chip kick from Beale was regathered by Tom Carter to score.
