It's a knockout for Steve Ciaparra
Wednesday 30 April, 2008 12:01am
SEVERAL Mt Druitt boxers featured on the undercard with mixed results at The Anzac Tribute night.
Rooty Hill's Steve Ciaparra scored a clinical first round knockout in front of his home crowd.
Dominic Vea, who lives at Blacktown but trains at Mt Druitt, scored a third-round knockout win over his opponent.
In what promoter Hakan Tukel called the fight of the night, Mt Druitt's Nenos Slewa took on Campbelltown's Jerry Spanidis.
Both fighters were making their debuts. Spanidis won on an unanimous points decision.
A rematch is scheduled for July at Blacktown.
St Marys boxer Wade Hatch fought on despite a broken nose until his corner persuaded him to throw in the towel for a fourth round technical knockout.
